I was granted funds for the Artist Support Grant 2024–2025 to design my website which is used to promote and sell my work. Since the beginning of my career, I have used the domain/website xerrajeros.com of the lifestyle collective I co-founded and am a lifetime member. However, since it displays the work of other artists, I sometimes receive feedback that it is confusing. Furthermore the fact it is in mispelled Spanish adds to the confusion. Cerrajeros means locksmith but we spelled it with an x as a variable in math and because we lived at the time in Barcelona where the x is often used instead of the c anc ch in the catalan language. I have purchased the domain name marcelaslade.com and will transition to using it as my main platform. I believe this decision will help advance my career and development as an individual professional artist by focusing on my “brand”, work and expertise.
